It is too quite.

Have you ever had kids or were watching them and it suddenly dawns on you that it is too quite?  Hold on…Hold on.  It is too quite!  Quick!  Find out what they are doing!

Anyways this happened a couple of nights ago.  I was picking up the living room and it hits me.  I don’t hear anything.  At all.  No screaming, fighting or kids having fun!  At this point I start looking for Rowen and instantly see a pair of feet sticking out from under the dining room chairs.  I move the chairs out and she is stuffing grape bubble gum into her mouth swallowing it.  *sigh*  I take it away telling her she should not swallow gum and she is throwing a fit telling me I am taking her swallow.

Will never forget the image of her on all fours chomping down gum as fast as she can.  You would think the girl never gets candy or sugar!

Seattle Children’s Museum with Dad.

Today has been a busy day.

Woke up early and got the kids feed/dressed and then took Mandi to the airport so she can fly out to California to see Jenny.

From there Kolyn and I needed to get a haircut.  Badly!  We drove down to supercuts and basically got the same haircut.  :(   No matter how hard I try Kolyn will just not try anything different with his hair.  I would love for him to venture out a bit more and get a Mohawk or die it.  Enjoy it while you have it man!  But he is a boy and does not really care for looks or clothes.  I am sure that will change in the pre-teen years.

After the haircut and everyone got balloons I decided to take everyone to the Children’s museum in Seattle.  I have to say it is a pain in the ass to push two kids in a stroller while holding a giant umbrella.  I do miss the taste of sunshine.

Once we finally where able to buy tickets I decided to take the kids the opposite way that we normally go.  (They usually are glazed and tired by the end.)  Kolyn and Rowen say that their favorite part of the whole trip was the ball section.  Mine was the mini-restaurant and the kids grocery store.  I will let the pictures do the talking since Dad is tiiirrreeed.  It was a very fun trip though and the kids had a blast.  Also glad I was able to keep track of both of them with the weekend chaos there.  :)

As we where leaving Kolyn asked me what that huge tall building was.  It was the space needle and I asked him if he wanted to go to the top.  hehe.  He said yaaa!!?  Sssooo we bought some tickets and after a short wait we went to the top.  I had a feeling Rowen would be a little scared due to her fears, but Kolyn was scared as well.  They where fine if they where close to the building but if I took them close to the edge they would get worried.  I think I had the same fears as a kid and cannot blame them.  I had fun with them.  I think the next time it is sunny I will take them on the Ride the Ducks thing or some other new trip.  :)

Not much happened after that.  We walked several blocks to a McDonalds since they where hungry and it was easy.  (Crap food ftw!)  Walked back to the garage and drove home.  Rowen conked out on the way home since we where busy nonstop since 9:00 amd at this point it was 2:30.

I had a short 20 minute nap on the sofa while the kids played upstairs and then made dinner.  I have to say that Shrek 2 is my favorite out of all of them.  3rd being the worst.  I know random but it was on during my half sleep.

Took the kids forever to go to bed tonight.  I need to figure out a better way to get them to listen.  They don’t come with manuals but at times I wish they did.  :)

Now that they are asleep, have had a glass of wine, I can see today was a good day.

These posts may change somewhat in the future.  I may create a new blog on this site.  The more I type and “talk” the more it brings peace to my soul.  Not a writer by any means but whatever helps.  :)

Ohh…Pictures!

Wake up Daddy.

The previous evening Rowen woke up in the middle of the night and vomited all over her bed and bedding.  It does not appear she was sick, just had something that disagreed with her tummy.  I ended up staying home from work yesterday because she was acting “sick” prior to daycare and work.  I think I was had.  :)

Towards the end of the afternoon before we had to pick Kolyn up from school I got ttiiirrreed.  Playing with a 2 year old and cleaning the house takes a lot out of you.  :P

Anyways I am in a half sleep on the sofa while Rowen was playing/watching one of her shows.  She notices I was “sleeping” and decided it was time to wake me up.  Daaddddyyy!  Wake up!  Rowen decides to get some toys and play with them on my chest and belly.  So In the end I am in a half sleep waking up every 5 minutes to her playing with her cups and toys on my chest.  Very cute and a memory that will stick with me for a long time.  :)

Mandi is flying out to California this weekend so it will be me and the kids.  I am thinking of taking them to the Children’s Museum today and just having fun with them.  I will take pictures with the DSLR and post them this evening.  Daddy days and fun!

Northwest Trek

In an effort to take the kids out more on the weekend, Mandi and I took the kids to Northwest Trek yesterday.  The traffic to get there through Graham was epically bad, but in the end we got there.  As we where pulling up in the parking lot and we told the kids to look for animals Rowen called out “Animals!  Where are you?!  Froggies!? Are you there?”  Very freaking cute.  It was very cold and windy that day which was not the best since the kids have runny noses and are getting over a week long illness.  After everyone went to the bathroom and we set out, Rowen immediately took of at a run…fell…skinned her leg and starting screaming.  *sigh*  Poor little thing.  We figured out that for the remainder of the trip she was on a mission to hurt herself since she cannot see very will with her winter hat and cannot run in her “sparkly shoes”.  Kolyn had a good time and wanted to be the official tour guide telling us which way to go and path to take.  The definite highlight of the trip was the 30 minute tram ride.  Unfortunately we had to wait an hour for our time slot so we spent that time walking around looking at the animals.  Out of all of the animals that we saw Kolyn’s favorite was the moose since they look funny.  I believe my favorite was the big cats.

In the end the trip was not the best but I am glad we all went and we can check it off of the list.  As for if we would ever go back I am not sure.  If I wanted to get my animal fix I would probably just go to the zoo.  :)

The kids have been sick this week with flu like symptoms and have been sleeping on the pull out sofa this week.  Figured I would share and get the ball rolling on this site again.

ArborOfLife Back Up!

ArborOfLife has been down for awhile due to a server hard drive failure and I have taken my sweet time getting the site back up and running.  It is now back up and running and has been simplified.  Prior the site was setup for multiple pages and multiple blogs for more than one user. It is now pretty much dedicated to the kids and picture/videos as it was before.
